Our Favorite Exfoliation Concotion Revealed…

Did you know that it is more important to exfoliate during summer than in other seasons?

Its true, during the hot, humid summer, skin cells don’t turnover as quickly as they should. So it’s especially important to exfoliate to prevent clogged skin and acne. As glorious as summertime is with trips to the beach and afternoons by the pool, it can be a nightmare for your face and body. Our skin is exposed to sunrays, sunscreen, sweat, chlorine – all pore-clogging culprits – which is why it is so important to exfoliate throughout the summer season.

We have gotten a little creative here at One Lucky Duck and come up with an amazing concoction that perfectly suits our facial exfoliating needs: mixing E3 Light Polish with Alkaitis Organic Purifying Facial Cleanser….we swear by it !

E3 Light Polish is a rejuvenating exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin cells to reveal glowing soft skin and when mixed with the gentle and deep cleaning Alkaitis Organic Purifying Facial Cleanser it’s a perfect way to soften the E3 Live scrub and make it gentle enough for even the most sensitive of skin.

Exfoliation tips:
1.    If you are going to be in the sun post exfoliation, you MUST wear sunscreen because your skin is more sensitive. (Excuse the “mom” moment, but we need to point out that you should always wear sunscreen when you are going to be in the sun, you only get one face, take care of it!).

2.    When we say how important it is to exfoliate in the summer, we don’t mean you should exfoliate every day.  We suggest twice a week for your face…unless you have truly sensitive skin, then start with 1 time per week.  Beware: exfoliating too frequently can cause damage so don’t overdo it.

3. And don’t forget the body it needs exfoliation love as well – we like using Shobha’s Exfoliating Cloth paired with Skinny Skinny Soap for a luxuriating and exfoliating bath!  The cloth (made from natural fibers and machine washable) was designed for gentle everyday exfoliation, especially before and after hair removal.
